1. Describe the selling job
State your destination market, retail channel and intended customer. A product for a specialist toy retailer may need a different box, language and display format from a promotional item. Describe intended use before selecting solely on appearance.
2. Identify the exact version
Include the SKU or product link, a photograph and the features that matter. For an RC toy, include control functions, battery configuration and charging accessories. For a bubble toy, ask about included solution and power requirements. Similar-looking versions can produce different quotes.
3. Put units next to every quantity
Specify pieces, sets, display boxes or master cartons. Keep the supplier's minimum separate from your requested quantity. Where a minimum is expressed as cartons, confirm pieces per carton before comparing alternatives.
4. Ask for packing and cargo information
Retail-pack size, units per carton, outer dimensions and gross weight help you estimate the shipment. A low unit cost does not guarantee a useful landed margin. Initial packing information remains provisional until confirmed for the ordered version.
5. Agree the next approval step
Decide whether you need a stock sample, a functional sample or a packaging proof. Confirm costs and timing. Include product documentation and destination requirements before the order is approved, not after it is ready to ship.
