A trading hub is not a single factory
Yiwu's value to a toy buyer is the opportunity to compare different products and suppliers in a trading environment. The place a product is offered is not necessarily its place of manufacture. Ask who produces the item, where production takes place and which documents relate to that exact version.
What to compare beyond appearance
Two similar toys can differ in materials, motors, batteries, accessories and packing. A photograph alone will not reveal these differences. Use a written comparison covering sample version, components, packaging, MOQ and readiness before choosing a supplier.
Make a market visit productive
Prepare category priorities, target quantities and a short specification before visiting. Record codes and supplier details consistently. Photograph products with their reference where permitted, and keep sample requests connected to the quotation.
Source remotely with the same discipline
A remote project still needs a defined brief, product references and sample approval where appropriate. Ask for the views and details that support your decision rather than relying on a general showroom video. The objective is a documented shortlist that can become a purchase order.
Use local breadth for a focused range
More choice is useful only when it fits your channel. A gift shop may favor smaller packs and compact formats; an importer may prioritize repeatable specifications and full-carton quantities. Combine the right categories instead of accumulating unrelated products.
